Planting season: new sermon series

It is a law of God’s creation that seasons of harvest always follow seasons of planting. We all long for the harvest season. There’s nothing better than savoring the fruits of our labors! We have been looking ahead at the future for Morningside and considering how we will plant today so that we may harvest good fruit in the seasons to come. Join us for six weeks starting Sunday, October 15, as Pastor Jonathan teaches the Scriptures and unpacks the Planting Season vision each week. Pray that God would grant us grace to discern and follow his will together!

Ministry & Outreach Updates

In late August, Sheila Ezell and Nancy Karnotski took our clothing donations to Blackmon Road Middle School and helped organize the student clothing closet. We will collect donations again in November. Thank you ladies! Blackmon Road Middle School has sent their thanks to Morningside. The current needs for the clothing closet include hangers and large command hooks, toiletry items and girls' hair items.

The Children's Ministry and Global Missions Committee provided breakfast to our weekday preschool parents on Tuesday, September 19. Thanks to all who helped.

Shay and Barbara Ingle recently traveled to Valdosta, GA to help with clean-up efforts after Hurrican Idalia moved through the area. Groups organized by the Georgia Baptist Disaster Relief team provided debris clean-up assistance, hot meals and other basic needs. Thank you for serving those in need!

At our Fall Craft Fair on September 9, we had a good turnout of people - both church people volunteering and guests coming to shop. Just over 150 people filled out guest cards. The results tell us that children are important with the need for tutoring and childcare being high priorities. Our next neighborhood outreach will be our Christmas Bazaar on December 9.
